Exposure to radiation in Hiroshima caused Sadako Sasaki to die like thousands of others who were also exposed.  Her life was too short.  She could have been a grandmother by now.  Instead she died while only a schoolgirl.  Sadako was born in 1943 just five weeks before I was born.  She would be 57 years old.
