Blasted
Lives of Children
1996
41" x 37"
Hiroshima
Series
This also relates to the poem, Harvest of Hate. (See the quilt, The Hate Will Be Great.)
Many young children were killed or injured in the bombing in Oklahoma
City. Like the children who
were in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, surviving children have lives blasted by
their injuries, memories or loss of family.
A quilt is usually something that evokes warmth, protection, and
love rather than hate.
